Therapy for First Responders in Florida
The work you do asks so much of you: your attention, your composure, your body. Therapy offers a confidential space to process what you carry so it doesn't carry you.

First responders face things most people never have to think about, often while being expected to stay steady for everyone else. Over time, that weight can show up as exhaustion, irritability, numbness, or a sense of being on high alert long after your shift ends. This isn't about being weak, it's about finding support built for the realities of your work.
Common Experiences
-
Feeling constantly on edge, even during downtime.
-
Difficulty sleeping or shutting your mind off after a shift.
-
Emotional numbness or feeling disconnected from loved ones.
-
Irritability or a shorter fuse than usual.
-
Carrying memories or images that resurface unexpectedly.

How Therapy Can Help
Therapy offers a space where you don't have to filter or explain the realities of the job. Using trauma-informed approaches, we'll work on processing what you've experienced, building tools to regulate your nervous system, and reconnecting with life outside of survival mode.
Working together may include:
-
Trauma-informed therapy tailored to first responder culture.
-
Processing difficult calls, incidents, or cumulative stress.
-
Nervous system regulation and stress management tools.
-
Rebuilding connection with family and relationships.
-
Confidential support that respects your work and privacy.
Yes. I am a paramedic and have firstfirsthand experience in the unique culture, stressors, and unwritten rules that come with this line of work, and I tailor our sessions to fit the realities of your schedule and experiences.
Seeking therapy is confidential and is about taking care of yourself so you can continue doing your job well. Many first responders find that support like this helps them feel more capable, not less.
Sessions are collaborative and tailored to you. Some days we'll untangle old experiences. Other days we'll focus on getting through the week. Therapy doesn't have to look the same every session. We'll figure out what works best for you.
Sessions are $120 for 50 minutes, and your first 15-minute consultation is free. I'm self-pay and not in-network with insurance, which keeps your care flexible and your mental-health history off an insurance record. A limited number of sliding-scale spots are available, and I can also provide a monthly superbill you may submit to your out-of-network benefits.
Finding the right therapist matters. If you're reading through this website and thinking, "This feels like someone who may understand what I'm experiencing," that can be a good place to begin. The first few sessions give us a chance to get to know each other and see how it feels to work together.
That's completely okay, many of my clients haven't either. I'll walk you through everything, and you never have to know the "right" words. We'll figure it out together, one step at a time.
You Don't Have to Carry This Alone
You don't have to have it all figured out to reach out. Wherever you are in your journey with faith, doubt, or healing, there's space for you here. Let's take the next step together.
